Summary and Links 2019 Through professional practice and formal education, I have spent the past 15+ years broadening my understanding of the arts as a multidisciplinary field of public discourse, capable to propose new frameworks and redraft contexts. At present, I am Faculty in Curatorial Practice and Arts Administration & Policy at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and was recently on the Exhibitions & Residency Team at Hyde Park Art Center.

2017 M.A. School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Arts Administration and Policy New Artist Society merit award Thesis Project: The Tokyo Show: Black is Beautiful demonstrates curatorial practice and the discourses of contemporary art as instigators for cross-cultural dialogues across global space, and as personal and collective tools of eloquent disruption to the spatial imaginaries and historical inheritances of "race." Thesis paper submitted June 2017 John M. Flaxman Library. Describes: Research of Tokyo-based arts ecologies and possible site-partners (field study); identification and analysis of curatorial models, based on historic exhibitions and contemporary projects; visual critical review of global arts depictions of Black America, c.1960s; interviews with Black American artists across generations including metal sculptor Richard Hunt; Warhol actress Abigail Rosen McGrath; and an interview with Louise Greaves, partner of the late filmmaker William Greaves. Thesis Paper: Centered on the challenges of communicating experientially specific, personal essay and memoir projects to colleagues and publics of varied and non-homogeneous cultural and social backgrounds, as readers may have different interpretations of a written work.
